‘Quality in Education is what makes learning a pleasure and a joy.’
Say hello to ‘no-bag days’! ‘With NEP’s new ‘bagless days’ policy in place, it’s time that we unburden our student’s shoulders, both literally and figuratively, by implementing school days where backpacks are left behind and learning beyond textbooks takes centrestage. Bagless Day in school not only provides a platform to encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities but also, is an attempt to provide a different module of learning for better performance. The Bagless bay aims to take children to another dimension of learning through practical experiences and thereby creating awareness on the environment, processes and events, self experiencing of the prior knowledge and analyzing them.
Lourdes convent, CBSE had a day off from textbooks and notebooks on every 2nd Saturday of the month as a Bagless Day, as a part of NEP-2020, for classes I to VIII. to inculcate creative self-learning approaches and to add more colors to students learning by training them.
On Bagless day, a spectrum of eye-popping activities were systematically planned for different grade levels like pattern making, drawing, painting, rangoli with geometrical shapes, paper writing and making collage, 2-D and 3-D model making, riddles etc.
Implementing bagless days at school encourages educators to come up with innovative teaching methods that paves the path to an enjoyable and less regimented learning experience making it a win-win for both students and teachers alike!
